Split Air Conditioning, Split System Air Conditioner

Summary

Introduction

Split Air Conditioning is a great choice if you just want to heat or cool one room or area.

There are many different choices of split air conditioning system, from cooling only to reverse cycle and even humidifying; a popular choice is reverse cycle as this type of system will cool and heat, keeping your room or area at a steady temperature all year round. There are also inverter air conditioning and non-inverter air conditioning systems; Daikin inverter air conditioners are more energy efficient and quieter, yet more powerful. The way this works is by gently increasing and decreasing the power and then steadily maintaining it, without wild fluctuations, to reach the desired temperature quicker. Conventional air conditioners operate at a fixed speed, delivering a fixed amount of cooling and heating; while trying to maintain a set temperature they operate on a 'stop/start' principle. A Daikin inverter split air conditioning system will save you money in the long run as well as keeping a steady temperature for your comfort; they are also very reliable in extreme temperature ranges. System

A Daikin split air conditioning system has an indoor and outdoor unit; the indoor unit can be wall mounted or floor standing and is connected by fully insulated copper refrigerant pipes and electrical cables to the outdoor unit. They come in different energy sizes, the smallest being a 2.0kW system and the largest being a 10.0kW system. The size required for your room or area takes into account a number of different factors, such as room size, windows, orientation, what the room or area is being used for and the amount of heat generating equipment in the room, such as computers, televisions, etc. This will be assessed by our technician when he visits to discuss your requirements.

Daikin split air conditioners also come in different designs. There's the popular wall hung split systems that blend into any room, easy to keep clean with washable filters; and the multi-directional louvres enable you to divert the air as desired. And Daikin's floor standing split systems situated at ground level can even be semi-recessed into the wall. The wide-angle louvres at the top and bottom of the unit means you can use just the top or top and bottom to efficiently distribute air as desired. A Daikin Split System Air Conditioner is energy efficient and quiet to run. Sound levels can be reduced by 2-3 decibels on the indoor unit, and by 3 decibels on the outdoor unit, when quieter operation is needed.

Daikin split system air conditioners have various filters such as photocatalytic deodorising filters, air purifying filters, titanium apatite photocatalytic air purifying filters and mould proof air filters. Together with an innovative air flow system it ensures that fresh, conditioned air flows to every corner of the room.

The new Ururu Sarara split air conditioners can humidify as well as performing all the standard functions of Daikin's extensive range.

Installation

Split System Air Conditioner

The indoor unit would be located in a carefully chosen position in the room or area of your choice. The outdoor unit would then be positioned as close as practicable to the indoor unit; backing onto the same wall is preferable and it would be positioned on anti-vibration mounts upon stainless steel brackets or a polyslab. If this is not a suitable option for you then it is possible to be quite creative when it comes to discretely locating your outdoor unit; we can run pipes and cables through wardrobes, roof spaces, garages, etc. in order to locate your outdoor unit in an unobtrusive, yet energy efficient, location. These options can be discussed with our technician when he visits to assess your requirements.
